In this class you will learn to design a quilt with your favorite loved items. I call it an Industrial Wall Quilt, but it's quite the opposite. It will hold your treasured memories, copies of family photo's and pieces of your past to hang on your wall where they belong, for all to view. Get those treasured pieces out of those boxes and bring them to class. I suggest you color copy any pictures so you can crop, cut and glue to your background quilt. You will design your quilt in the colors you choose. I will have decorative papers, yarns and ribbon, paint, beading and misc. collage materials for you to use. If you want a specific color or theme you must bring the materials with you the day of the class.

You will learn water color techniques, dry brushing, collage and design. This piece will be a family heirloom once complete, something to hand down over the years to those you love. By choosing a theme and incorporating personal items into your work the final piece will be truly yours. Please have a theme in mind before coming to class. Example: family, vacation, love, sisters, best friends, children, Barbie, Hello Kitty, Snoopy, religious, etc. Choose a theme that pleases you and shows your personality!

Supply list for students

• Ultimate Glue
• Scissors
• Ephemera (old cards, a favorite magazine, vacation items, memory "stuff")
• Copies of your favorite photo's (ea. quilt piece is 6 x 4, keep photo's within this size range)
• Small charms, buttons, broken jewelry to personalize your quilt pieces
• Paint brush: #3 round or any round you may have for watercolor application
• Anything else you would like to incorporate into your piece, decorative papers, specific color theme items, old money, words cut and ready, stamps, puzzle pieces, stars, hearts, angels, metals, etc.
